Contract Prefixes define how your contracts are numbered in Enlivy.
Each Contract Prefix maintains its own numbering series, allowing you to organize different types of contracts with separate sequential numbers. This makes it easy to distinguish service agreements, employment contracts, partnership agreements, or any other contract category your organization uses.
Open the Contract Prefixes settings
From the Enlivy dashboard, navigate to Settings → Contracts → Prefixes.
Here you’ll find the Contract Prefixes dashboard. Every new Enlivy organization comes with a default contract prefix, CTR.
You can use this default prefix or create additional numbering series for different contract types.
Create a new Contract Prefix
Click Add Contract Prefix in the upper-right corner.
A popup window will appear where you can configure your new contract prefix.
Complete the Contract Prefix information
- Name
- The internal name of the contract prefix. Choose a descriptive name that identifies the type of contracts this numbering series will be used for — for example Services, Employment, or Partnerships.
- Alias
- The prefix that will appear before the contract number, such as SERV, EMP, or PART. If the alias is SERV, your contracts will be numbered SERV1, SERV2, SERV3, and so on.
- Description
- Optionally describe what this contract prefix should be used for. The description supports Markdown formatting.
- Current Number
- Defines the current number of the numbering series. The next contract created with this prefix will continue from this value — for example, if the current number is 100, the next contract generated will use that numbering sequence.
Example
In this example we create a new contract prefix using Services as the name, SERV as the alias, 1 as the current number, and a short description reading:
This contract prefix will be used for services contracts.
After reviewing the information, click Add Contract Prefix.
